MAY 9, 2006  Principal Photography is off and running.  Day 1 was completed yesterday, without much of a hitch.  There was a late start due to circumstances beyond control, but the IceBreaker crew set up quickly and efficiently and because of that, the shoot was only delayed by a half hour.  The cast was prepared and everything went smoothly.  Most setups were completed after two or three takes, no setups went over five.  The shoot wrapped at 2:30pm, 30 minutes earlier than expected.  A good way to kick off the production.

Production stills will be posted in the Multimedia link in the near future.

MARCH 31, 2006  With most required locations already secured, the production schedule is now being put together.  The business agreement between Streckfus Entertainment and Executive Producers Matthew Feeney and Jeremy Gustafson has given Evert and Martin enough resources to begin production.

Principal Photography is expected to commence on May 8, 2006.

MARCH 23, 2006  Matthew Feeney (Casting Director, Co-Star and former Associate Producer) along with his business partner Jeremy Gustafson are now Executive Producers for IceBreaker.  Feeney and Gustafson struck a deal with producers Evert and Martin, the results of which drastically decreased the IceBreaker budget.  Under the terms of this agreement, Streckfus Entertainment now has access to nearly all of the production equipment required for the shoot, the remaining gear to be purchased by Evert and Martin within the next three weeks.

The remaining production costs ($5,000 to $7,000) are expected to be secured through outside investors.

MARCH 13, 2006  Due to weather conditions, the final location scout for IceBreaker was postponed.  Final location scouting has been rescheduled for March 20.  Most required locations have already been secured; the few remaining locations are expected to be secured on March 20.

FEBRUARY 26, 2006  The IceBreaker Cast & Crew assembled for a table reading of the screenplay.  Pics of the reading can found in the Multimedia link.  Rehearsals are expected to begin soon.

Although all speaking roles have now been cast, there will be the need for many extras as shooting commences.  So if you're interested in getting some screen time in a local indie flick, stay posted and we'll make extras announcements as they're needed.

FEBRUARY 5, 2006  The final day of auditions has been completed.  Approximately 50 local actors, selected from over 150 submissions, auditioned for the roles of Gary, Sam, Keith, Tina, Roach, Lindsay and Karen during three days of preliminary auditions, held between January 21 and February 4.

AUGUST 24, 2005   A Mock Trailer for IceBreaker has been added to the "Multimedia" Link.

DEVELOPMENT HELL!  There's a reason Hollywood uses that phrase to identify one of the many stages of filmmaking:  because development is most certainly just that.  IceBreaker's tagline is "You think war is hell?  Try dating."  Well, if you think dating is hell, try to secure financing for a film.  Whether it's a low-budget independent film or a big-budget studio blockbuster, finding money has always been the biggest hurdle in the development process.

Evert and Martin are currently pursuing financing opportunities, and with any luck financing will be secured in time to begin principal photography in 2006.

The independent film community has always relied upon and benefited from the generosity of individuals willing to take a financial risk by investing in projects they believe in, and IceBreaker is no different.  Kevin Smith was able to finance the 1994 indie hit Clerks by maxing out his credit cards and selling his comic book collection, but unfortunately Evert and Martin do not have credit cards to max out, nor do they have comic book collections to sell.  Therefore, their success will depend greatly on individuals who are willing to take a financial chance and invest in the IceBreaker project.

The current box office slump can be attributed to many things, but a common belief among experts is that American audiences are growing tired of sequels, re-hashed storylines and brainless summer fare.  Although Hollywood is enduring a slump right now, independent film has never been more popular.  Audience reactions to the likes of Project Greenlight and box office and critical success from films like Sideways prove that today's audiences are interested in independent film.  And interest means money.

Evert and Martin are convinced that IceBreaker has the potential to do very well in the festival circuit, and if the film is a hit in festivals, its chances of getting a distribution deal (money) increase exponentially.

If you are in a position to help make IceBreaker become a reality, if you like the idea of being credited as an Executive Producer in a feature-length motion picture, and if you are interested in the possibility of making some money - then BECOME A PRODUCER!
